Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it is used, and the limited situations in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use Grayson County Criminal History, you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the request and supplies its result. Grayson County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained as needed to prepare a response. It remains within the site team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the servers automatically receive basic technical details about that visit:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show, in aggregate, which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics providers assist with that measurement. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the site work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a submitted query to the selected search provider
  • Maintain security, speed, and reliable site operation
  • Measure which resources are useful and which need revision
  • Diagnose errors and other technical problems
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

This site neither maintains nor sells a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to reach Grayson County custodians, Kentucky State Police, the courts, corrections, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or dossiers about other people, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies supply the search boxes. Their own privacy policies control data entered there, including retention and sharing decisions. Review the relevant provider's terms before sending a query because this policy does not govern that processing.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the Grayson County Sheriff, Kentucky courts, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's policy governs. Read it before providing personal details.

Some advertising providers may measure activity across websites to select ads. Their systems, not this site's systems, conduct that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so the site cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.

Users Under 18

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be removed when a proper request is received.

Your Data Rights

Kentucky consumer-protection law, including KRS Chapter 367, may provide rights and remedies based on the facts. The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs qualifying records held by public agencies, not data held by this private site. KRS 17.185 separately supports a person's review of their own KSP criminal-history record. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. A new version becomes available here with its updated effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
